Policies
17/4/2023 From Directors Meeting,
“Propose that the directors adopt a policy not to engage Villagers as employees or contractors.”
Two reasons: a) the differentiation between employees and contractors is murky. If we engage a Villager as a contractor and it later turns out that they should have been classified as an employee, it opens WGV up to claims for superannuation, tax and other costs as well as changing our WHS and possibly other obligations. b) A lot of Villagers (directors and non-directors) put a great deal of time and effort in for the Village. For some to be paid risks undermining the “volunteer ethic” that we depend on.
